The Dalles, Ore. — June, 23, 2026 — QLife Network is committed to expanding reliable, affordable broadband infrastructure throughout Wasco County and the Mid-Columbia region to help communities stay connected and thrive in the digital age. We take our financial responsibility very seriously.
That is why, after careful consideration, expanded engineering estimates and extensive review, we have determined that our proposed Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) project is not financially feasible and will not move forward. Escalating construction costs and other economic factors have made it impractical for us to proceed with the project under the current funding structure. We appreciate the leadership and support of the Oregon Broadband Office and look forward to seeking future opportunities to expand broadband to rural families and small businesses in the Mid-Columbia region.
QLife firmly believes fiber remains the best long-term solution for delivering reliable, scalable, and future-ready broadband service. We’re currently building high-speed fiber broadband infrastructure to serve nearly 3,000 homes and businesses in The Dalles, representing one of the most significant broadband investments in QLife’s history.
